The rabbit is hand carved from fossilized mammoth ivory, an ancient material dating back some 15,000 years. Mammoth ivory lies in permafrost or the earth for most of its life. The earth colors it a range of organic tones from soft cream to warm caramel, making it an ideal material for representing animals and the natural world.
