Dracaena sanderiana (Lucky Bamboo) is not a bamboo at all.  It is said to bring luck and is used extensively in feng shui.  This is an easy plant to grow.  

This plant is often grown in water, but can be grown in an evenly moist potting soil as well.  

Place in bright light, but not full sun.  An east window works well or a few feet from a south or west window.
